On Orkney the deceased– Skara
Brae, Maeshowe, Ring of Brodgar, Churchill
Barriers, The Old Man of Hoy. Admixed
with the living- Short-eared Owl, Hen
Harrier & Scottish Primrose. On
Shetland it’s very, very much
alive! Thousands of Gannets, Puffins
Guillemots, Razorbills, Shags &
Storm-petrels wheeling around precipitous
cliffs. Red-necked Phalaropes swimming
in front of you. Otters fishing just
offshore, Killer Whales patrolling the
seas, nervous Atlantic Seals. Delicate
Frog Orchids and the endemic Shetland
Mouse-ear. Come and experience! |
THE ITINERARY?
From Aberdeen to Orkney Mainland, visiting
Burray, South Ronaldsay and Hoy. Then
flying onto Shetland Mainland with boat
crossings to Yell, Fetlar & Unst,
whilst cruising around Bressay &
Noss. Returning to Aberdeen. |
